Dwayne Webb, a longtime coach and teach in Osceola County, who inspired the lives of many students and athletes over a three-decade education career, will be remembered in a service Sunday at Gateway High School. Webb passed away at the age of 60 on Nov.

Here are capsules for the county’s soccer programs, which began their regular seasons last week: Celebration Boys: Under head coach Chad Boudreaux, the Storm has been one of the top programs in the area, going 58-15-13 in the last four years and appearing in 18 post-season playoff games.

Longtime county coach Dwayne Webb, 60, passes away

Dwayne Webb, a longtime football and weightlifting coach in Osceola County, passed away from a short bout with colon cancer Monday. He was 60 years old. Webb had coached in the county for over 30 years, with stops at Osceola, St. Cloud, Poinciana and Gateway High.

After a 2-8 season, Tohopekaliga High officials said head football Coach Jeff Higgins will not return as head coach in 2022. “We had a meeting and reached the decision that the program needs to head in another direction,” Athletic Director Lonnie Flores said.
