Football Regional Playoffs: Newsome to test Osceola’s defense

After a 10-game regular season, two things are apparent concerning Friday’s night regional quarterfinal between Newsome and Osceola.  First, the 8-2 Wolves are really, really good at running the ball. The second is that the Kowboys are really, really good at stopping the run.

Lady Bulldogs earn 3A golf state tournament bid

With a strong fourth place finish at the Class 3A, Region 3 Championships at Cleveland Heights Golf Course in Lakeland, the St. Cloud Girls Golf Team managed to snag the fourth and final at-large team spot for the upcoming state championship tournament.

Week 11 preview — but first, Soldier City matchup was a “Classic”

CHS sends two XC teams to regional; takes district swim meet by Storm

The Celebration boys (522 points) won six events to win the District 4A-4 swimming championship Saturday at Lakeland George Jenkins High School in Lakeland. Celebration’s girls (309) were third. Felipe Costa won two individual events, taking first in the 100 freestyle (44.

Valiant Bulldogs end golf season in 3A regionials

St. Cloud’s dream golf season came to a crashing halt on Monday afternoon as the Bulldogs finished in ninth place at the FHSAA Class 3A Region 3 Golf Championship held at Orange Lake’s Legends Golf Club. The Bulldogs shot a team score of 34-over par 321 on the 6,800-yard (37-35-Par 72) course.

Harmony favored in 17th Soldier City Classic

Harmony (5-3) looks to break a two-game St. Cloud (2-6) series winning streak when the Longhorns travel to Gannarelli Field Friday for the 17th edition of the Soldier City Classic. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
