College honors for local scholars

Here’s a list of honors and degrees earned by Osceola County residents from out-of-state institutions in Fall 2023, as shared by news service Merit Pages News, or the schools’ media relations offices: Jordan Green of Kissimmee was one of 14 Shenandoah University students and alumni inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) national leadership honor society on Sunday, Feb. 4. Students were nominated by faculty and staff for excelling in both leadership and academics, and members were selected to ODK through an application process.

Still time to sign up for Poinciana Predators football and cheer

There is still time to register for the longest running Poinciana Youth Sports Program. Join the Poinciana Predators Football and Cheer family in Flag Football (ages 4-6, $75 per child); tackle (7-10, $150 per child) cheerleading (4-14, $200 per child). Conditioning began this week at Vance Harmon Park, 50 Country Club Rd.). The City of St. Cloud’s Thrive Thursday will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Hopkins Park. This Thrive Thursday program will be an interactive workshop on resume writing and interview skills. This workshop is free, but registration is recommended.
