“Decode” your weight loss Friday

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital (325 Cypress Pkwy, first floor Osceola Room) will begin holding its weekly Decoding Weight Loss each Friday from 10:30-11:30 a. m. starting July 8. This class will explain the science to losing weight: calories burn must be greater than calories consumed.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Division of Law Enforcement will be promoting awareness and conducting heightened enforcement targeting boating under the influence as part of the national Operation Dry Water campaign this weekend.

Be a hero and save a life!  OneBlood's Big Red Bus will be at the St. Cloud Veterans Memorial Library (810 13th St.) on July 7th from 12 noon to 5 p.m.  Face coverings must be worn to donate, if you do not have a face covering, one will be provided.  Temperatures will be taken upon arrival.

Florida is home to over 50 native snakes, and as the temperatures warm up these snakes are more active. Four species of snakes found in Central Florida are venomous, meaning their bites inject life-threatening venom into the body.

There is a passionflower for every Central Florida yard; they attract butterflies, some have showy flowers, and some types even have edible fruit! Most passionflowers are vines.

We’re in Florida, so we have a couple things in long supply: summer heat and pools. Now, what we need is some safety. The 13th Annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson comes to the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center today (Thursday, June 23) from 9 a.m. to noon.
