Osceola High School will pay tribute to one of its most famous alumni Friday when it officially renames its football stadium in honor of Markus Paul prior to its game with Dr. Phillips.

Isaac Nieves took a screen pass and raced 69 yards for a touchdown and Noah Carr returned an interception 26 yards for another score, as the St. Cloud Bulldogs posted a 22-12 win over Gateway on Monday night. “This team needed a win in the worst way,” St. Cloud Coach Bryan Smart said.

It was status quo at the Orange Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday, as the Celebration boys won their third consecutive team title, while the Harmony Longhorns won the girls’ title for the eighth time in 10 years and the 13th time overall.

FHSAA fully sanctions girls wrestling

It took more than a year to gain final approval, but the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has finally voted to make girls wrestling a sanctioned high school sports beginning in 2021-22.

C.J. Simms and Judah Knight each scored touchdowns in the final four minutes to lead the Viera Hawks to a 39-31 come-from-behind road win over the Harmony Longhorns on Friday night. The loss dropped the Longhorns to 3-2 overall and, most importantly, behind the 8-ball in District 7A-7.
