On Sept. 14, loyal patrons of the Fox & Hounds gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the authentic English pub located on U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee.Food and drink flowed, as well as the fond memories and well wishes.

The City of Kissimmee held its annual Hispanic Heritage Month reception ahead of last week’s City Commission meeting, where a proclamation was read to show the city’s commitment to recognizing its diversely-cultural community.

The U.S. Department of Education Monday recognized 356 schools as 2024  National Blue Ribbon Schools, including Kissimmee’s NeoCity Academy, which was nominated among Exemplary High Performing Schools.

TUESDAY 11:30 A.M. — Ahead of the approach of Tropical Storm Helene — which was officially named at 11 a.m., Osceola County announced sandbag operations would be available for county residents to get bags at Osceola Heritage Park from 12-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Stay weather and hurricane ready, Osceola.The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical disturbance currently in the western Caribbean approaching the Yucatan peninsula, and computer forecasting models are coming into agreement that it will form into a hurricane and affect parts of Florida.

After a period of falling gas prices, AAA says they have leveled off and may creep back up this week as oil prices start to rise. "Crude oil and gasoline futures rose last week, cooling off the downward trend of prices at the pump," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group.

Thousands of people passed through Kissimmee Gateway Airport Saturday -- even though they weren't going anywhere.The annual Kissimmee Fly-In gave folks the chance to check out up-close and tour a variety of planes, including flight training aircraft and United Airlines commercial jet.
