School district updates learning options

The Osceola County School District has an update regarding learning options for students during the first semester of the 2020-21 school year. Schools will continue to accommodate parent requests for students to digital learn or face-to-face learn through noon Sept. 18.

Losses at the libraries: School District missing almost 38,000 books

The Osceola County School District is asking students and parents to return more than 37,000 overdue library books, valued near $750,000, that were taken out last school year. The School District recently posted a plea on its social media platforms asking those who have books to return them.

Salary talks between School District, union stalls

Salary negotiations between the Osceola County School District and teachers union in remain stalled amid disagreement over a new state law. Gov. Ron DeSantis in June signed a bill requiring teachers be paid a minimum annual salary of $47,500, or as close to that as fiscally possible.
