Thunderstorm chances remain at 60 percent this week

By Steve Norris For the News-Gazette Shower and thunderstorm chances will remain at about 60 percent for every day this week. Typical afternoon and evening storms will be most likely. High temperatures will be in the low 90s and low temperatures in the mid-70s.

Celebrating Victory

The Osceola County Republican Executive Commitee (OCREC) held a Victory Dinner on Saturday celebrating the candidates winning the primary in August. It was held in the St. Cloud Room at Osceola Heritage Park. The committee also celebrated State Rep. Mike La Rosa (R-St. Cloud).

As conditions continue to diminish at Kissimmee’s Star Motel, Osceola County’s Human Services Department is working to secure safe accommodations for the property’s residents in partnership with local organizations.

COVID-19 student cases, number of quarantines drop significantly

The number of Osceola County School District students testing positive for COVID-19 and those also quarantined dropped significantly from last week.   For the week of Sept. 7, 11 students had tested positive for the coronavirus, while 94 students were quarantined. That compares to the week of Aug.
