Celebrating Black History Month: Remembering America’s first Black four-star general

Daniel “Chappie” James was born in 1920 near the Pensacola Naval Air Station in a segregated town. Growing up, he often saw planes flying overhead and stated his desire to become a pilot. When the U.S. entered World War II, James was attending Alabama’s Tuskegee Institute on a football scholarship.

Arrest made in Feb. 16 Poinciana road rage shooting

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a road rage-inspired Poinciana shooting. Anthony Falu, Jr., 20, was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, carrying a concealed firearm and discharging a firearm in public.
