St. Cloud city manager Sturgeon announces retirement

The City of St. Cloud announced Friday that City Manager Bill Sturgeon will be retiring his post, effective Sept. 2. In a release from the city, the longtime civil servant and first responder said he's doing it for his family.

Florida Highway Patrol reports a 32-year-old Deltona woman was killed Friday night when her SUV left the roadway and overturned. According to the report, the woman was headed eastbound on U.S. Highway 192 just after 7 p.m.

Sheriff's Office makes arrests in two violent Poinciana cases

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced arrests in two Poinciana cases on Thursday. Raul Cedeño-Rosado, 30, was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempt murder in relation to a stabbing that occurred at the Liberty Inn on North Poinciana Boulevard on June 7.

Osceola County: Tropical Park streets set for resurfacing next week

Osceola County has advised that a network of streets in the Tropical Park, Cotton Village and Sun Pointe areas north of Kissimmee, north of Carroll Street and west of Orange Blossom Trail, are tentatively scheduled for resurfacing beginning next week.

First full federal Juneteenth holiday — Osceola celebrates

While Osceola County celebrates the “new” Juneteenth holiday this weekend, with events in Kissimmee and St. Cloud, it is the oldest known celebration of the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers, led by Maj.
