Superintendent Pace establishes Back-To-School Task Force

The Osceola School District is hard at work to determine what learning will look like in the fall for its 69,000 students.  

Superintendent Debra Pace has created a Back-To-School Task Force that is looking  into how to best keep students and staff safe when school resumes on August 10, 2020. The Task Force, which is made up of school and community stakeholders including medical professionals specializing in infectious diseases, parents, teachers and school and district administrators, will make recommendations to Superintendent Pace, who will then present a plan to the Osceola County School Board for final approval.

Be assured that the safety of students and staff will always be at the forefront of all decisions that are made. Solid plans for multiple scenarios will be developed based on science, data, and guidance in alignment with the Florida Department of Education, CDC recommendations, as well as local and state public health departments.

Input from parents is being requested now until June 8 through a short survey as to what would be their preferred approach to educating their children at the start of next school year. Parents are asked to complete one or more survey sections that correspond to their children’s grade level for the 2020-21 school year.  The survey can be found at the following links:
