The Four Chaplains were four World War II chaplains who died rescuing civilian and military personnel, giving up their own life jackets when supplies ran out as the American troop ship SS Dorchester sank on Feb. 3, 1943. The chaplains included Methodist Minister, the Reverend George L.

Martin Luther King Day is a celebration honoring Dr. King’s birthday. Dr. King fought for the rights of all people, and his legacy should inspire us to create a better world for all. Honor his memory by participating in the MLK Day of Service at Hopkins Park.

Isn't this what Florida is supposed to look like, with exotic tropical plants growing profusely?  To the vacationer or the new resident, it may appear to be a plant lover's dream.   But the reality is that the photo is a better example of paradise lost than of paradise found.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering technical assistance to potential applicants interested in its Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) and the Boating Infrastructure Grant Program (BIGP).
Luminaries will be available and tributes, donations and gifts to be left around these luminaries or placed in collection containers will be accepted. Cash donations will go to the Dr. Christa Young Memorial Angel Fund.
