Osceola High’s Bobby Sippio has gone back to his roots this year.Sippio, who led the OHS Kowboys to their only FHSAA state football championship in the 1998 Class 5A title game before a stellar college career at Western Kentucky, has taken the game of football indoors.

In a season where very little separated the top two teams in the county, Celebration’s Leandra Oliveira edged Harmony’s Machaela Looper and Gabriella Guzman in the race for Osceola News-Gazette Girls Soccer Player of the Year.All three had terrific seasons and were deserving of consideration.

Kissimmee Soccer Club, an entry in the United Premier Soccer League, recently wrapped up the UPSL spring season, and claimed the Florida Central title with a 12-0-2 record in which the club surrendered just six goals.

Harmony’s soccer season did not start off well. Through eight games, the Longhorns were 1-5-2 and struggling to find any type of rhythm.That changed dramatically when transfer Alejandro Echevarria was cleared to play on Dec. 12 against Poinciana.
