Kissimmee man dies after driving into BVL pond, FHP says

A 23-year-old Kissimmee man died early Friday when his car plunged into a retention pond in Buenaventura Lakes, Florida Highway Patrol reports.According to the report, the man was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer southbound on on Waters Edge Drive, which is just south of Osceola Parkway.

Despite vocal opposition, St. Cloud annexes 1,000 acres

The St. Cloud City Council meeting grew heated Tuesday night, with St. Cloud Police officers escorting two speakers out of the chambers, as homeowners pleaded with Council members to deny or postpone planned annexation of their properties.

The Kissimmee High School Class of 1967 held their 58th class reunion April 25-27 at the Marydia Community Center. The theme was “Together We Stand Stronger.”KHS was Osceola County African-American public school, before Osceola High integrated the following year, and the school closed.
