Fire officials: Response times to improve as Poinciana Station 85 opens

The Poinciana area now has its first bona-fide fire rescue station as Osceola County leaders and its first responders officially opened Station 85 on Cypress Parkway just west of Doverplum Avenue Wednesday.

Airport grants to fund infrastructure upgrades

The Kissimmee Gateway Airport recently announced the award of two grants to the city-owned airport from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program. The grants total over $11 million and will be matched by state and airport funds.

Healthy Start Coalition honors Infant Mortality Awareness Month

On Sept 20, the Healthy Start Coalition of Osceola held a full day of events, concluding with a walk in honor of Infant Mortality Awareness Month.The walk was in remembrance of the 39 infants that had passed away in Osceola County in 2023, which was a jump compared to the previous years.
