Look out for coyotes in Poinciana

Recently, a notice from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Division of Law Enforcement was posted that coyotes were spotted in Poinciana. Coyotes are an important part of a healthy eco-system in Florida as they manage population of rodents and insects, but unfortunately, they can become aggressive.

A resident of Cypress Woods reported her small Yorkie was attacked by one while she was walking it on a leash. The Yorkie’s injuries were so severe she had to be euthanized. To avoid conflict: secure garbage cans, clean up pet food and fallen fruit and try to keep pets in an enclosed area.
