Osceola County extends emergency declaration

 The Osceola Board of County Commissioners voted 5-0 on Monday to extend an existing state of emergency for Osceola County as part of its response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Three Kissimmee residents arrested at Polk cockfighting event

Three Kissimmee residents were among the 13 people arrested on Saturday, after the Polk County Sheriff’s Office broke up a cockfighting event in Frostproof. The Kissimmee residents were Rafael Marquez-Baez, 56, Johnathan Ernesto Colon-Portilatin, 25, and Jose Angel Garcia-Baez, 52.

Man arrested trying to meet 'teen' for sex

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who thought he was going to meet a 14-year-old child for unlawful sexual activity. Jacob Alan Edmonds, 30, was charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex and use of computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child.

St. Rose of Lima team rises to the coronavirus

Beep’s Move Nona self-driving shuttles were up and running again, but this time they weren’t picking up passengers.  They were delivering pizzas.  Lake Nona partners came together this week to donate lunch to health care workers on the front lines at the Orlando VA Medical Center.

City, Farm Share to run food distribution site Tuesday

The city of Kissimmee and Farm Share will partner to host a food distribution event on Tuesday, April 28.  The food distribution event will be held at the Kissimmee Service Center, 2213 W. Mabbette St., from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
