The Florida Department of Health in Osceola County (FDOH-Osceola) has announced a free COVID-19 vaccination event for children aged 5 and older on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its offices at 1875 Fortune Road in Kissimmee.

Osceola County Commissioners have two — and maybe a third — potential maps and concepts for new districts. A final map will be adopted by the County Commission at a public hearing on Dec. 6. New maps are required by the Florida Constitution after each decennial census.

Sheriff’s Office opens new Teen Driver Challenge dates

According to the Centers for Disease Control’s Motor Vehicle Safety division, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers. Roughly 25 to 30 percent of teen drivers will be involved in a crash within the first 12 months of getting their operator’s license.

Kolby Urban wins St. Cloud City Council Seat 3 election

Kolby Urban will soon make the St. Cloud City Council a five-member board after winning Tuesday's special election to fill the Seat 3 of Chuck Cooper, who passed away this summer. Urban, a housing contractor who sits on St. Cloud's Economic Advisory committee, won the race with 2,987 votes, or 63.

Operation Squeaky Wheels: Sheriff’s Office arrested 48 sex offenders

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that it partnered with the United States Marshal Service and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in a joint operation to verify the compliance of the 580 sexual predators and sexual offenders in Osceola County Florida.
