The St. Cloud Women’s Club Heritage Museum is honoring Women’s History Month with a special exhibit on display as a tribute to the women who helped make St. Cloud great. The hours are Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Wednesday March 29 from 5- 7 p.m.

Mark your calendars, Fix a Leak Week is back! This annual celebration, observed the third week of March, brings awareness to water waste caused by household leaks. Did you know that about 10% of homes have leaks that can waste 90 gallons of water or more per day? Don’t let that home be yours.
The City of St. Cloud has begun construction on renovations of the restrooms at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. While the pool will remain open, during construction there will be no access to the restrooms or showers.

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) has developed a new project that will extend Poinciana Parkway (SR 538) in Osceola County. The 3.1-mile project that will start east of U.S. Highway 17-92 will expand the road to County Road 532.

Have you seen a gopher tortoise burrow around your neighborhood or while out for a hike? It’s almost gopher tortoise breeding season, so in the coming months you may see more gopher tortoises and burrows. Gopher tortoises live on land, so unlike turtles they do not live in water.

At its Feb. 20 meeting the Kissimmee City Commission, with little discussion or debate, unanimously passed an updated noise ordinance that puts into place a tiered system of increasing fines for continued violations.
