District assignments announced for basketball

A more compact district for most Osceola County schools – creating more interest and reducing travel – was the result of the reclassification for boys and girls basketball that was announced by the FHSAA this week.

Turnovers cost Osceola a 25-22 decision at Lakeland

A second straight game against a highly ranked opponent ended in a second straight setback, as Markell Johnson rushed for three first half touchdowns to lead Lakeland (3-0) to a 25-22 home win against Osceola (1-2).

Tohopekaliga piles up 549 yards, rolls 47-6 over St. Cloud

The Toho home show of offense keeps rolling. For the third straight game, the Tigers scored seven touchdowns, including on their first four drives Friday, and piled up 549 yards to quickly put away St. Cloud, 47-6, on Friday.

Can Tigers’ freshman QB keep up fast start?

Freshman Sabby Meassick is off to one of the greatest quarterback starts in Osceola County history, and he will attempt to keep that momentum going on Friday night when the Tohopekaliga Tigers (2-0) host the St. Cloud Bulldogs (2-1) Friday at 7 p.m.

Kowboys climbing in state volleyball polls

With victories already this season over some of the region’s top teams, Osceola’s volleyball team le little doubt they’ll also be the team to beat in next month’s Orange Belt Conference tournament with a straight set (25-18, 25-18, 2511) road win over 2021 champion Tohopekaliga Monday night.
