Dreams of Osceola’s first state volleyball championship came up just short when the Kowboys dropped a five-set decision to Hagerty in the Class 7A state-semifinals Saturday. The Huskies (23-8), 2019 state champions, play Venice (21-4) in Saturday’s title match.

To say Harmony gave a lights-out performance in the Soldier City Classic rivalry game against St. Cloud Friday isn't hyperbole -- it's fact. A blown fuse near the stadium knocked out the lights late in the first quarter.

Quarterback De’Kwan Bradley accounted for five touchdowns, and Perry Garrett ran for 72 yards and caught four passes for 104 yards as the Poinciana Eagles ended 14 years of futility with a 56-0 win over Liberty in the 15th edition of the Battle of the Boulevard.

When Osceola High legend Jim Bird stepped down as longtime wrestling coach and athletics director on June 15, the school moved quickly to name Celebration’s Rick Tribit as its new Athletic Director.

In Carrie Palmi’s coaching career, Osceola has produced some outstanding volleyball teams with multiple district championships and regional appearances.  About the only thing missing from her resume was a trip to the Final Four.  You can now check that one off the list.

Several athletes and teams from Osceola County competed in regional action over the weekend. In the Class 3A, Region 3 meet, both Celebration (10th) and Harmony (12th) were eliminated from the state championship meet; teams needed a top eight finish to move on.

Osceola in volleyball regional finals Wednesday after 5-set thriller win over Jupiter

For the first time since 2015 and just the second time in school history, the Osceola Kowboys volleyball team will contend for a regional championship.   Osceola earned that honor Saturday with a thrilling five-set win over Jupiter, 25-8, 25-19, 20-25, 18-25, 15-11.
