Falls sports began winding down last week, but even with the football playoffs starting the COVID-19 crisis has created a unique situation where some regular season football games will be played throughout the month of November and even into early December.

Midway through the second quarter, Osceola found itself locked into a tight 7-7 road game with Vero Beach.   Unfortunately, that would be as good as it would get for the Kowboys, who were totally dominated for the rest of the game in a somewhat surprising 34-7 loss.

It was exciting and it was close, but in the end, it was the same old story as the Liberty Chargers scored three second half touchdowns to defeat Poinciana, 22-7, in the “Battle of the Boulevards.

Osceola High School advanced in FHSAA regional volleyball competition, and St. Cloud junior Morgan Beaulieu advanced to the state golf championships for a second straight year in last week’s prep action.

On the game’s first play, an errant center snap sailed over Tohopekaliga quarterback Tyler Wesley’s head and rolled into the end zone. Wesley fell on the ball, but Osceola led 2-0 with the safety.

Edgewater edges Osceola in 31-24 thriller

In the end, it came down to one play.   Jeremiah Conley returned a fumble 59 yards for a touchdown with four seconds remaining to give Edgewater High School – the state’s fourth ranked team in all classifications – a 31-24 road win over the Osceola Kowboys.

For a second consecutive year, the golf teams at St. Cloud High School reigned supreme at Orange Belt Conference Championships held at Royal St. Cloud Golf Course on Oct. 5-6.  The Bulldogs Boys’ team had all five of its golfers earn All-Conference honors and shot a team score of 318 on Oct.

Heading in to last Friday’s game with Osceola, St. Cloud Head Coach Bryan Smart knew among other things that his team would have to avoid mistakes and turnovers to have any chance against the Kowboys.
