Several Osceola County schools will find the path to the football playoffs a little more difficult this season, as the Florida High School Athletic Association announced its long-awaited reclassification plan for the 2021 season.

The spring sports season has started and both the Harmony baseball team and the Liberty softball team are off to strong starts.  Here’s a  look around the county: Baseball Harmony has won eight of their first 10 games.

More than 120 schools compete in wrestling at the Class 3A level in Florida.   Even with that much competition, Osceola High School produced more than 20 percent of the indiivdual champions this year at the FHSAA State Wrestling Tournament and under Head Coach Jim Bird.

Osceola High School has another state champion.  Well actually three. Sophomore Cooper Haase (120), senior Jaekus Hines (138) and freshman Gunner Holland (152) all took individual titles in the FHSAA Class 3A State Wrestling Championships held Mar. 5-6 at Osceola Heritage Park.

Jaekus Hines, a three-time state qualifier and a defending state wrestling champion will become a Mountaineer.  On Monday, the Osceola County senior and team captain signed a scholarship offer for Appalachian State University.

County Sports Roundup: City of Life Christian Academy girls earns final four spot

City of Life Christian Academy (COLCA) is headed to the FHSAA Class 2A Final Four.   The Lady Warriors (14-6), who came up one game short of the Final Four a year ago, will now move to Lakeland following an impressive 64-38 blowout road win over Foundation Academy on Friday.
