Osceola Magic's hot streak continues with win over Cleveland; Raptors sign Castleton

Five-game home stand starts Sunday

Ethan Thompson and Myron Gardner combined for 69 points as the Osceola Magic (14-9) outscored the Cleveland Charge (10-15), 149-144 Wednesday on the road.

Thompson, an Orlando Magic two-way player who is returning from injury, came off the bench to score a season-high 35 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Gardner, thrust into the starting lineup with Mac McClung suiting up for Orlando, again set a career-high with 34 points on 13-of-20 shooting. Jarrett Culver scored 27 points off the bench with seven threes and Javonte Smart had 25 with six threes as Osceola had its season high for scoring.

The Magic will start a five-game home stand Sunday, welcoming the Greensboro Swarm (16-9, leading the NBA G League East) for a 3 p.m. tipoff. The first 1,000 fans in the building will receive a Jett Howard bobblehead for ‘Orlando Magic Night,’ presented by AdventHealth and Rothman Orthopaedics. The Magic also host the Swarm on Tuesday, then welcome the Santa Cruz Warriors (12-11) on Wednesday, Stockton Kings (17-7, leading the G League West) on Friday March 14 and Sunday March 16.

The Magic will play at home without center Colin Castelton, who has signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. In 16 games with Osceola, he's averaged 17.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and a block per game in 29 minutes. The Magic have won 11 of those games.

On Feb. 21 against the Nets, Castleton broke the Magic’s single-game offensive rebounding record with 10.
