Think you have what it takes to play professional basketball at the highest level?Well here’s your chance to showcase it.

The Osceola Magic, the Orlando Magic’s G-League affiliate, will hold a series of open tryouts in September. The team will hold tryouts at the Advent Health Fieldhouse, located at 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven, on Saturday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The local player tryouts provide athletes a chance to showcase their skills in front of Osceola Magic head coach Dylan Murphy and his staff.

Pre-registration for tryouts is required and open now at Osceolamagic.com. All required registration and release forms, as well as a $300 non-refundable fee, must be completed in advance to participate in the camp.Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis and tryout spaces are limited. Local Player Tryout and Authorization forms will be sent to registrants within 48 hours of completing the applications.

In April, Orlando Magic Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner Alex Martins announced the team was moving its NBA G League team to Kissimmee and the Silver Spurs Arena in time for the 2023-24 season.

Formerly the Lakeland Magic, the team was rebranded the Osceola Magic and will play the home portion of its 50-game schedule at Silver Spurs beginning in November. The full schedule will be released in the near future and season ticket information is available at www.osceolamagic.com.

Considered to be the second best basketball league in the world in terms of overall talent, the G League consists of 30 teams, of which 28 have one-onone affiliations with NBA Teams.Seven members of the 2022-23 Orlando Magic squad played games with the team in Lakeland last year, including former first round draft picksR.J. Hampton ( Milwaukee), Jonathan Isaac, and Chuma Okeke; as well as second round selections Caleb Houstan and Admiral Scholfield.
