As we move on to 2022, this first full work and school day of the year is a good time to take one last glance at the holidays of 2021.
Thanks to the generosity of many citizens of Osceola County, foster children experienced a spectacular Christmas. Many Christmas trees at banks and restaurants featured yellow angels, representing the holiday wish for a foster child.
One restaurant, Woodsby's Countryside Cafe on John Young Road near Ham Brown Road, has been putting these angels on their tree for 22 years. It's owners noted they went through about 700 angels on their tree this year, as patrons kept bringing in gifts. One volunteer for the Foster Children of Osceola noted coming to the cafe very often, sometimes twice a day, to pick up all the gifts.
