School District offers student-success webinar

 

The Osceola School District, in partnership with the Alliance for Public Schools, will kick-off a new on-demand webinar series called "Power Up for Success" for parents and guardians on Saturday that addresses a variety of topics to help children succeed in school.

 

The free online sessions, which can be accessed through Nov. 14, will give families the tools they need to navigate the education system and best help their learners at all grade levels, a School District release said this week.

 

Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace will provide an online keynote address entitled "Pick The Perfect Pathway To Power Up Your Child's Future," which will highlight Osceola School District's Choice offerings and many high-quality opportunities for students.  On-demand sessions will be given on the following topics:

·       How Do I Choose The Right School?

·       College Match And Fit

·       Physical And Mental Health And Wellbeing Of Students

·       VPK - Early Steps To Success

·       Making High School Matter

·       Science Is Elementary

·       Real-World Connections For Students

·       Success For Exceptional Education Students

·       The A, B, Cs Of Educational Technology: Helping Your Child Navigate Through A Digital Learning World

·       Attendance Do's and Don'ts

·       How Can Career And Technical Education Help Prepare My Child For College, Technical Training, and Work?

·       What's In My Middle Schooler's Backpack?

·       Yes, Your Child Can Be A Math Person

·       Emergent Bilingual Students: Resources To Success

 

In addition to the sessions, "Power Up For Success" will also offer an online virtual gallery of district resources and information from a number of district departments and post-secondary schools including: Voluntary Prekindergarten, Elementary Education, SDOC Environmental Center, Middle School Education, High School Education, Extended Learning, Student Services, Technology Services, Exceptional Student Education, English Language Learners/Multicultural Department, Osceola Technical College, Adult Learning Center - Osceola, Career and Technical Education, Special Programs, Athletics, and the Educational Choices and Innovation Department.
