A St. Cloud man was arrested Sunday and charged with multiple felony counts as police say they received sexual abuse allegations involving children.
Paul Leon Renuart, 66, has been charged with four counts of sexual battery on a victim under age 12; three counts of sexual battery on a victim aged 12-18 and one count of child abuse without great bodily harm. He remains held on bond at the Osceola County Jail after facing a judge on Monday.
A charging affidavit has not been released by Osceola Clerk of Courts as of Monday night.
St. Cloud Police say they issued an arrest warrant for Renuart Sunday following an extensive investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving multiple victims after receiving information regarding the allegations that involved children. Detectives immediately initiated an investigation, working in coordination with the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Children's Advocacy Center of Osceola County, that led to the warrant.
"The allegations in this case are deeply disturbing and represent a profound violation of trust involving vulnerable children," said Chief Douglas Goerke. "The St. Cloud Police Department remains committed to protecting children, thoroughly investigating crimes against them, and holding offenders accountable. We are grateful to the victims for their courage in coming forward and encourage anyone with additional information or who may have been victimized to contact our Criminal Investigations Division."
Police say detectives believe there may be additional victims and encourage anyone with information related to this case, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized by the suspect, to contact Det. Patrick Persaud at 407-891-6700 ext. 6725 and reference report #26-002701.
