ST. CLOUD NEWS — A big swim lesson, a Movie in the Park, and an eye on the 4th

The City of St. Cloud’s June Lunch & Learn sponsored by InnovAge takes place on Wednesday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marina Banquet Hall. This month’s topic is Alzheimer and Dementia Awareness. Connect while enjoying lunch and informative discussion in a welcoming community environment. Help St. Cloud break a world record at The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. This free 30-minute swim lesson features a DJ, water slides, paddle board rides, CPR demos and more. The motto for this incentive is Swimming Lessons Save Lives. This global event stresses the importance of learning about water competency and safety skills. No registration is required.


The City of St. Cloud’s Movie in the Park will be shown on Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud Lakefront. Bring a chair and blanket and join in on the fun. The movie National Treasure will be shown.


Tropical Salsa Jazz in the Garden takes place on Friday, June 26 from 6-9 p.m. at Hunters Arms Hotel, 1029 New York Ave. Enjoy an evening of music, dancing, tropical drinks and community connections. For more information, contact Julie Aldea at 407-928-7534.


Registration is now open for Osceola Flag Football at Harmony Middle School, 3725 Arthur J Gallagher Blvd. This program is for boys and girls in grades K-12. Spots fill quickly – go to www.osceolafootball.com.


4th on the Lake, the City of St. Cloud’s Independence Day celebration takes place on Saturday, July 4th from 4-9:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Lakefront Park. The City is looking for vendors to join one of the largest events of the year. This is an opportunity for local businesses, non-profits and organizations to connect with thousands of attendees with this evening filled with family fun, entertainment, food and fireworks. There will also be a car show at the St. Cloud Lakefront. Registrations are now being accepted for the All-American Car Show, open to all makes and models. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Most Patriotic, Kid’s Choice and People’s Choice.
