Osceola County Sheriff's deputies say a Kissimmee man is in custody after leading them on a slow chase down Osceola Parkway Friday night in an RV while under the influence, and hit multiple vehicles before hitting a tree and being caught on foot.
Louis Anthony Robles, 45, who was found carrying various drugs, was arrested and hit with a litany of charges: driving while license revoked/habitual traffic Offender, fleeing to elude police, reckless driving, DUI, two charges of leaving scene of crash with injuries and DUI damage to property, resisting without violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Osceola County Jail without bond.
Deputies say Robles has not had a valid driver license since 2021 thanks to nine prior driving suspensions that labeled him as a "convicted habitual traffic offender" in both 2021 and 2022 for a five-year term.
The chase began around 9:15 Friday night when a deputy observed a white Winnebago failing to maintain its lane on eastbound Osceola Parkway approaching Michigan Avenue, Sheriff's spokesperson Capt. Kim Montes said. The vehicle continued in a dangerous and reckless driving pattern, indicating impairment, and the deputy kept other drivers away from the RV while it drove along at speeds between 16 and 45 mph, Montes said.
A traffic stop was initiated but the driver, later identified as Robles, did not stop. Stop sticks were used to deflate the left front tire, but the RV just kept going, eventually heading into a neighborhood along east Osceola Parkway and ultimately came to a stop after striking a tree in the front yard on Berkshire Circle. Robles fled on foot from the vehicle and was subsequently detained.
Robles' lengthy record of traffic citations and arrests, including one on May 26 when Kissimmee police found Robles asleep inn his car on Oak Run Boulevard around sunrise, speaks to his driving suspension. According to the arrest report, police arrested Robles for driving without a license and found fentanyl on his person. Court records show he was released the next day on a $5,500 bond.
His record of felony arrests on charges like driving without a license, drug possession and theft goes back to 1998 at age 18, and shows a pattern of being in and out of jail.
