A St. Cloud police officer has been relieved of duty after being arrested in neighboring Brevard County on domestic battery charges, the agency reported Friday morning.
Kyle Davis, who has been with the department since April 2023, was immediately removed from duty after the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office notified St. Cloud officials of the arrest on Thursday.
St. Cloud Police officials say the department is launching an internal investigation into the incident alongside the criminal charges Davis faces in Brevard County.
“All members of this department, no matter their rank or tenure, are held to high professional and personal standards,” Police Chief Douglas Goerke said in a statement issued by SCPD Friday morning. “Any action that harms the hard-earned trust of our community will not be tolerated.”
Brevard County court records show a Kyle Winston Davis making an initial appearance in front of a judge Friday afternoon on a misdemeanor battery charge. The News-Gazette is working to get more information as it becomes available.
