Jolene Sheive to fill vacant School Board seat — here's some details

Local real estate broker and entrepreneur Jolene Sheive will fill the vacant District 3 seat on the School Board at the March 10 meeting after she said several people in the community encourage her to apply to the Governor’s office to fill it.

“I’m in a season of life where I can truly commit the time this role deserves, so I felt called to step up and serve,” she said.

Sheive, a broker at Legacy Realty of Central Florida and owner of property management company Stadium Place Administration, takes the place of Anthony Cook, who resigned his seat in December 2025 after winning election in August 2024.

“I am grateful and honored to be appointed by the Governor to serve District 3 in this interim School Board role,” she said. “I take this responsibility seriously and am committed to stepping in with focus, integrity, and a collaborative spirit. As I prepare to be sworn in, my priority is to listen, learn, and serve our students, teachers, and families while helping provide continuity and stability for our district.”

It is likely that a special election will be held this year at the same time seats for District 1, 4 and 5 will be up for election, but Sheive said she will not be running in that.

“My goal is simply to give back to the community that has given so much to me,” she said. “I will lead with my heart while following our district’s policies and working together with fellow board members and district leadership.

“There will be an election in November, and I hope our community finds the best candidate to lead with integrity, collaboration, and a true commitment to students and educators.”
