The U.S. Women's National Team has arrived in Osceola County, setting up training camp in the ChampionsGate area as head coach Emma Hayes prepares her squad for a pair of friendlies against Italy that will close out the 2025 calendar year.
Osceola County has long been a trusted training ground for U.S. Soccer. Both the men's and women's national teams have used local facilities for years, with the men regularly training at Osceola Heritage Park. The Orlando-Kissimmee corridor offers state-of-the-art facilities and a strong fan base that has made it a go-to destination for winter camps.
Hayes named a 26-player training camp roster for the matches, which will see the Americans face the 2025 UEFA Women's Euro semifinalists on Friday, Nov. 28 at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando and again on Monday, Dec. 1 at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale. The English-born coach will trim the roster to 23 players for each game day.
The squad features a blend of youth and experience, headlined by veterans Rose Lavelle and Lindsey Heaps. Lavelle, a midfielder with Gotham FC, the 2025 NWSL champions, brings 115 caps and 26 international goals to the roster. Heaps, now playing for Lyon in France, leads the team with 167 appearances and 38 goals for the national team.
Young talent will also be on display, including Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie, who has registered four goals in 10 caps, and Lily Yohannes, who recently moved to Lyon and has one goal in 11 international appearances.
Local fans will have a player to cheer for as Orlando Pride defender Emily Sams earned a call-up to the 26-player roster. Sams, who has six caps for the national team, is one of 10 defenders in camp alongside Gotham FC's Emily Sonnett, who brings 112 caps of international experience.
The Nov. 28 match at Inter&Co Stadium, home of the 2024 NWSL champion Orlando Pride, marks the ninth time the USWNT has played at the venue. The Americans last appeared there in February 2023, opening the SheBelieves Cup with a 2-0 victory over Canada on two goals from Mallory Swanson.
Kickoff for the Orlando match is set for 7 p.m. on Black Friday The game will be broadcast on TNT and Max in English, with Spanish-language coverage on Universal and Peacock.
The matches against Italy provide Hayes with a final opportunity to evaluate her player pool before the 2026 calendar year, as the program continues building toward future competitions under her leadership.
