Orlando man killed in Tuesday morning head-on crash near OBT and Pleasant Hill

An Orlando man was killed when his car, traveling the wrong way on Orange Blossom Trail, was struck head-on by another vehicle Tuesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to the crash report, the 37-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry in eastbound in the westbound lanes of OBT near Parkgate Drive, which is between Pleasant Hill Road and the Good Samaritan Village main gate. A 25-year-old Haines City woman driving a Dodge Challenger struck the Camry head-on, causing the Camry to overturn onto its roof.

The Camry driver was struck was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to HCA Florida Hospital Osceola as was in critical condition as of last report.

The incident had the westbound OBT lanes shut down into the morning commute hours. FHP did not say whether fog overnight and into the early morning played a role in the crash.
