College honors for local scholars

Here are some honors earned by Osceola County scholars at out-of-state institutions, as reported by Merit Pages News and the school’s outreach departments:

On Sept. 4, Jomari Santana of Kissimmee was honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 2024-2025 academic year. The entomology major was awarded the Joseph Fleming Memorial Freshman Scholarship.

Jeila Fullerton of Kissimmee (Tohopekaliga High School) has been named to the Summer 2024 Chancellor’s List at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Stephanie Toro of St. Cloud has been named to the Spring 2024 Dean’s List at Kean University (Union, N.J.)

Kassidy Cabot of St. Cloud and Yamilet Ramirez Santiago of Kissimmee were named to Valdosta State University’s Summer 2024 Dean’s List.

Kalee Giles Sharpe of St. Cloud completed the requirements for graduation from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Tifton, Ga.) in the Summer 2024 session with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness. She was also recognized on ABAC’s Distinguished list along with St. Cloud’s Madison Boyles and Katrina De Vuyst and Kenansville’s Khali Duncan.

Alayne Kalapp of Kissimmee was one of the University of North Georgia’s 220 newest cadets who began their time in the Corps of Cadets with Freshman Recruit Orientation Group (FROG) Week from Aug. 4-10.

Zaria Hill (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology) and Glenn Lee (Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance) of Kissimmee were part of the Valdosta State (Ga.) University graduating class of Summer 2024.

Gustavo Santiago of Davenport is among the graduating class from the University of Mississippi in August 2024 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the School of Business Administration.
