Are you a Corvette fan? If so, the Mecum Kissimmee 2024 auto auction will be squarely in your lane his January at Osceola Heritage Park.
Mecum Auctions announced Tuesday the event will take place Jan. 2-14, and feature some prominent Chevrolet Corvette pieces, headlined by the Ultimately Preserved Corvettes from the Collection of Dr. Mark Davis.
That trio includes an unrestored and award-winning 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible showing just 12,014 miles, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe in silver that is the only 1967 Corvette to win the All-Time Preservation Award from the Historical Vehicle Association of America (HVA), and an unrestored and award-winning 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe showing just 11,050 miles.
Not to be outdone, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88, the only Rally Red-on-red ’67 L88 known to exist, is also slated to head to the auction block. It is one of just 20 L88s produced for the 1967 model year, and it boats Bloomington Gold Certification and Bloomington Gold Special Collection recognition in 2001. Its 427/430 HP L88 V-8 engine features a 4-barrel carburetor, 12.5:1 compression and a high-lift cam, all backed by a Muncie M22 4-speed manual transmission, is expected to draw a crowd and a healthy auction price.
Fans of other domestic classics will want to check out the 25 lots that compose The Kevin Sergent Mopar and Wing Car Collection. A dream for Dodge fans, it will feature a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda, a rare Moulin Rouge-over-white 1970 Plymouth Superbird, and a 440 CI V-8-equipped 1969 Dodge Daytona, along with other hemi-equipped Cudas, Road Runners, Chargers, Challengers among the fleet of vintage performance vehicles.
Those are among the projected 4,000 vehicle consignments expected, that could push the total sales over the $234 million mark that Mecum Kissimmee 2023 achieved, marking the first time a live collector auction exceeded $200 million in back-to-back years after the 2022 auction saw totals reach $217 million.
The popular Road Art auction will occur in two parts this year, the mornings of Jan. 2 and Jan. 11-14.
