Here’s a list of honors and degrees earned by Osceola County residents, as shared by news service Merit Pages News: Southern New Hampshire University announced its Winter 2023 Dean’s List, which includes Kenneth Williams, Miguel Marulanda and Leilani Corredor of Kissimmee and Britney Chirichella and Hloniphani Dube of Davenport.
Additionally, these students earned a 3.7 grade-point average and were named to the President’s List: Alexander Almeida, Yarlin Serrano, Christian Miller, Jason Hebert, Nicole Gilyard, Lee Gray, Welfnie Estilus, Valentina Ranero, Rafael Agosto Rivera, James Lorini, Matthew Veretto, Piper Hanson, Hali Giroux, Joseph Charles, Nicolle Cardoso and Taylor Huff of Kissimmee, Juan Lopez and Star Elllis of St. Cloud, Maria Orengo Ortiz of Celebration and Benjamin Donan of Loughman.
Leah Griffith from St. Cloud was named to the spring 2023 Dean’s List at Cedarville (Ohio) University.
Audra Thompson of Kissimmee has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy (Ala.) University, among those who earn a grade point average of 4.0.
Darren McCleery, an Electrical Engineering major at Grove City (Pa.) College from Kissimmee, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction.
Valdosta State (Ga.) University’s 2023 Spring Dean’s List includes Yamilet Ramirez Santiago and Emma Sweet of Kissimmee, Kelly Hasselberger and Jean Paul Quezada-Vargas of St. Cloud and Katherine LaCroix of Davenport. Kala Nance of St. Cloud was named to the University of Mississippi’s (Ole Miss) Spring 2023 Honor Roll.
Angeline Beecher from Kissimmee was named to Campbellsville (Ky.) University’s Dean’s List for Spring 2023.
Jose M. Perez from Kissimmee was named to Clark (Iowa) University’s Dean’s List.
Connor Douglas Cecil of St. Cloud is one of 332 Mars Hill (N.C.) University students named on the Honor Roll of the Academic Dean for the spring 2023 semester.
Nazareth College (Rochester, N.Y.) announces Gina Incandela of Kissimmee has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2023 semester.

Sidney Hopper of Kissimmee and Megan Rhonemus of Davenport were named to Georgia Southern University’s President’s and Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester.
Among the new inductees to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society, are Kissimee’s Meredith Nicholson ( University of North Alabama) and Poinciana’s Victoria Hagen (Florida State).
Queen Washington of Kissimmee received the Senior Award of Excellence at Mississippi College (Clinton, Miss.). The Senior Awards of Excellence in Leadership recognize senior students who are distinguished by visionary leadership on campus and their vision of greatness. Students receiving this award may have shown leadership in a particular organization or department, or have served in various roles across campus.
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, inducted new members, including Morena Bazan Ortiz of Kissimmee at The University of Texas at Austin; Jesuel Caraballo of St. Cloud at Florida Southern College and Jordan Wilkes of St. Cloud at University of North Florida.
Melanie Bezold, who will be graduating from Osceola High School in May 2023 before continuing her education at the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, has been awarded the Don and Lorraine Freeberg Foundation Scholarship. Recipients of this prestigious honor receive a $10,000 disbursement over the course of four years and a paid internship opportunity at the Caribe Royale Orlando. This was announced at an April 20 awards banquet by the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (CFHLA), in partnership with the CFHLA Foundation.
Kedrick J. Bibby of Kissimmee, graduated from Goshen (Ind.) College this spring with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.
Jake Thomas Clark of Kissimmee has earned a Master of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Gregory Enos of Kissimmee graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida Campus in Port Orange, Florida on March 24. Palmer College of Chiropractic is the first and largest college in the chiropractic profession, per Merit Pages.
Industrial Engineering major Reagan Hajjar of Kissimmee earned a Bachelor’s degree this spring at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Mass.).
Alisa Welter of Davenport graduated from Jacksonville State (Ala.) University on April 29 with a degree in Emergency Management.
Alyssa Parson of Kissimmee has earned a Bachelor of Science Communication Studies from Minnesota State-Mankato. Simone Samuels of Kissimmee received a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Nursing from Wilkes (Pa.) University.
Gerik Siwko of St. Cloud earned a Criminal Justice Bachelor of Arts from The Citadel during the Corps of Cadets commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6.
Jonea Mathis of St. Cloud, received a BA in Communication Studies during Hollins (Va.) University’s May commencement.
Caitlin Crowder of Reunion has earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama.
Tyler Wildermuth of Celebration received the Orville & Ermina Dykstra Scholarship and Wilbur T. Washington Diversity Scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year from Central College (Pella, Iowa) for a high commitment to academic achievement. Wildermuth is a member of the Class of 2025 at Central.
The University of Texas at Tyler will recognize spring 2023 degree candidates during Spring 2023 Commencement April 28-29, including Mary Antonette Calderon of Kissimmee with a Master of Business Administration.
As part of the Flagler College (St. Augustine) commencement on May 6, Gabriel Armas, a graduate from Kissimmee, was honored with a Bachelor of Arts degree for International Studies and Bella Seefeld, a graduate from St. Cloud, was honored with a Bachelor of Arts degree for Psychology.
College of Holy Cross (Worcester, Mass.) celebrated nearly 762 Bachelor of Arts degree recipients at its 177th Commencement, including Andres Purpuro of St. Cloud and Katya King of Celebration.
