Shooting occurred at 417 interchange
8 P.M. UPDATE -- A St. Cloud man has been arrested in connection with a road rage shooting incident on Florida's Turnpike just north of Osceola Parkway Thursday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol reports Jorge Luis De Jesus Carrasquillo, 35, has been arrested and charged with attempted felony murder, direct discharge of firearm from vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting from early Thursday morning, when a man driving a Tesla said he and his car were shot on northbound Florida's Turnpike near the State Road 417 interchange leaving Osceola County. Troopers are asking for the public's help with information into the shooting.
FHP said it was notified around 6:30 a.m. of the shooting. The 33-year-old male victim discovered his blue Tesla Model Y had been struck by gunfire — then realized he had been shot in the right leg.
Troopers said a gray or silver Volkswagen hatchback was involved in a road rage incident with the victim at the time of the shooting. Two bullet holes were discovered on the driver side door of the victim’s vehicle. No other identifying information was provided regarding the suspect vehicle or driver.
