Florida Highway Patrol is looking for information into the driver of a pickup truck who struck and killed a Kissimmee woman Friday night at the intersection of U.S. Highway 192 and Poinciana Boulevard.
According to reports, around 11:50 p.m. the truck, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, was headed south on Poinciana. The victim, a 37-year-old, was crossing from east to west across the shoulder, not in a crosswalk, and cross directly into the path of the truck, which struck her directly. The truck then fled the scene, the report stated, but was later found in a nearby parking lot in the area.
The woman was pronounced deceased on scene.
FHP and Crimeline are seeking information into the driver. Anyone with that info is urged to called FH Pat 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. The crash remains under investigation.
