St. Cloud updates for Hurricane Milton recovery

From the City of St. Cloud:

CANCELED EVENTS: Movie in the Park, scheduled for tonight, Oct. 11, at Hopkins Park, and the Fall Festival scheduled for Oct. 12-13, at The Ranch, are canceled because the ground is too saturated.

YARD DEBRIS PICKUP STARTS MONDAY: The map above shows what days the city will be in each area. Cut yard debris to no more than four feet in length and stack at the curb. The city will not be charging for the pickup of yard storm debris. Green yard waste carts will be picked up on Wednesday as usual. There will be no bulk pick up the week of Oct. 14, but the city will be collecting garbage, yard waste and recycling carts on the regular schedule. Bulk pick up will resume Oct. 21.

Osceola County is also opening a free yard waste drop-off site on Canoe Creek Road across from Bramble Wood Drive and Kanuga Village available to all Osceola County residents 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily Oct. 12-20. If necessary, the timeline may be extended. (For more information, call the Osceola County information line at 407-742-0000.)

STRUCTURAL DAMAGE: If you have it, you are asked to alert the city by completing the online reporting form. At the www.stcloudfl.gov homepage, click on "Report an Issue" and select "Report Structural Storm Damage" from the dropdown menu, or email the city information and photos to Buildingpermits@stcloudfl.gov. For questions, call 407-957-7224.

SMALL BUSINESS INFO: Gov. DeSantis activated the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program. Small business owners can go to FloridaJobs.org/EBL to apply for loans of up to $50,000 through the program. Loans of up to $100,000 are available for agriculture and aquaculture small businesses, and loans of up to $150,000 are available for citrus and cattle operations. These loans are intended to “bridge the gap” between the time a disaster impacts a business and when a business has secured longer-term recovery funding.
