A 37‑year‑old Orlando man awaiting trial on child‑exploitation charges is now facing new felony counts after investigators discovered illegal animal‑cruelty images on his phone.
Wesley Foy Scott Young, was arrested Tuesday on six counts of possessing explicit images and videos depicting sexual acts involving animals. The Osceola County Sheriff’s affidavit does not specify the type of animals were allegedly involved.
The arrest stems from a broader investigation into Young conducted earlier this year. Young was arrested in March in a separate undercover operation targeting online predators. According to the charging affidavit, investigators posing as a 13‑year‑old girl said Young initiated contact, engaged in inappropriate conversations and arranged to meet the person he believed was the child at a location in Kissimmee. When Young arrived, deputies took him into custody and charged him with traveling to meet a minor for sex, harmful communications to a minor, unlawful use of a two‑way communication device and attempted lewd and lascivious battery. Detectives seized his phone, laptop and gaming device as evidence.
During that investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Young’s cellphone. The forensic download of the device later revealed the illegal animal cruelty files, prompting the new charges filed this week.
Young is being held at the Osceola County Jail on $15,000 bond. If released, he faces strict conditions including a prohibition on owning animals and a ban on accessing the internet or social media. He is currently set to stand trial on the child sex charges on Aug. 24.
