A St. Cloud man was killed Wednesday morning when the car he was riding in was involved in a pre-dawn accident at U.S. Highway 192 and Nova Road, Florida Highway Patrol has reported.
The man, 27, was riding in a Dodge Neon that was turning left onto Nova Road, that was struck by a Honda Pilot being driven westbound on 192 by a 69-year-old New York man at 6 a.m., FHP Lt. Kim Montes said.
According to the FHP report, the Neon turned into the direct path of the Pilot, which struck the right side of the Pilot. The passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene, the Neon driver, a 56-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, along with both occupants of the Pilot.
The crash remains under investigation. The incident blocked westbound 192 traffic for the early portion of the morning rush hour.
Osceola County officials have noted in the past that the intersection where this crash took place (192 & Nova) is in line to get a traffic signal.
