An early morning domestic dispute in Davenport Sunday left a 37-year-old woman dead and her alleged attacker hospitalized and charged with first-degree murder.
According to an arrest affidavit, Osceola County deputies responded to a 911 call just before 3 a.m. at a home on Bogey Drive in the ChampionsGate Country Club community. The call came from a 12-year-old girl who said her stepfather was armed with a knife and had attacked her mother, later identified as Enese Pierre.
When deputies entered the home, they found the suspect, Makinson Devalcin, 45, lying face down at the entrance of a second-floor bedroom, suffering from a shallow neck wound. In the master bedroom, deputies found Pierre on the bed, covered in blood, with a fatal stab wound to her neck. A blood-covered knife was found nearby.
Pierre was pronounced dead at the scene. Devalcin was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in front of a judge Monday afternoon, but was still in the hospital as the charge was formally read.
According to the arrest affidavit, the child stated she was awakened by her mother’s cries for help, yelling, “He is trying to kill me.” When she entered the master bedroom, her mother was injured and bleeding and told her to call 911, the arrest report said.
The child told deputies that after she made the 911 call, she returned to her mother’s room and saw Makinson grab a knife, saying "No one messes with me."
An adult roommate in the home told deputies she heard shouting and saw Pierre covered in blood. When she tried to enter the bedroom, Devalcin pushed her back and told her, “No,” before she retreated to the first floor, the report said.
Further investigation revealed that the knife believed to have been used in the attack came from the home’s kitchen and had been recently purchased by Pierre. Authorities concluded that Devalcin acted with premeditation and have charged him with first-degree murder.
