FRIDAY NOON UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol confirmed a 31-year-old old Kissimmee man was killed Friday morning in Orlando when his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a box truck.

According to the FHP report, the man was riding his Kawasaki ZX-6R north on Goldenrod Road around 7:23 a.m. when he failed to slow for an Isuzu box truck turn right at Alachua Street, about a half-mile south of State Road 408, and crashed. The motorcyclist was transported to nearby AdventHealth East Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

THURDSAY: A 37-year-old St. Cloud man was killed in a crash on Florida's Turnpike Thursday evening when his Subaru crashed into an Orange County Sheriff's Office pickup truck that was disabled, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the crash investigation, the two vehicles were traveling northbound on the Turnpike when they crashed just north of Osceola Parkway approaching the State Road 417 interchange just after 7 p.m. The F-150 pickup truck driver, a 31-year-old man from Orlando, said he had a mechanical issue that caused him to lose control, spin out in the inside lane and face southbound. As a result, the front left of the Subaru struck the front left of the F-150.

The two drivers were transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. The St. Cloud man was pronounced deceased; the Orlando man received minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
