A 33-year-old Kissimmee man was seriously injured in a head-on collision with one other vehicle on State Road 33 south of Groveland in Lake County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers say he was headed south in his Dodge Journey around 6:20 a.m. Sunday morning when a Toyota Camry, traveling northbound and the wrong way in the southbound lane, struck the Journey head-on. Troopers say the impact caused the Journey to become partially engulfed in flames.
The Camry driver, a 24-year-old from Orlando, was pronounced dead on scene. 25- and 23-year-old male passengers from Orlando and Oviedo, along with the Journey driver, were transported to Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, troopers say.
