A 55-year-old Kissimmee man was killed Wednesday night in a two-car collision in Poinciana when another driver failed to adhere to a stop sign, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported.
The victim was headed west on Koa Street at 9:10 p.m. when struck by the other driver, a 42-year-old Kissimmee man who was headed south on New Castle Road. Per the FHP report, that driver went through a stop sign and into the direct path of the victim's car, which struck the side of the first car.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene; the other driver was flown to Osceola Regional Medical Center in serious condition according to the report, which also noted that neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
The names of the drivers have not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
