St. Cloud Chamber celebrates top businesses, leaders at Gala

The St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new Chairperson of the Board and gave out some awards at its Annual Gala Saturday night at Osceola Heritage Park.

Outgoing chair Raylynne Ketchum passed the gavel to Rachel McIntee, the Public Relations Specialist for the office of Osceola County Property Appraiser Katrina Scarborough.

“We’re coming out of a year of such great challenges in our St. Cloud business community, but we got through it,” said McIntee, who was also awarded Board Member of the Year. “I’m looking forward to an incredible year.”

Among the annual Chamber awards given out:

Chairman’s Award (reserved for outgoing Chair to honor someone who significantly served during their year): Gary Ketchum.

Ambassador of the Year (assists and welcomes new members): Esma Dennis

Beacon Award (One who serves the community in a special way): St. Cloud Florist

Chamber Charger: (An individual who “gets things done”): Camille Levee

Good Government Award: Property Appraiser Katrina Scarborough

Industry of the Year (supports community through business leadership): Orlando Health – St. Cloud Hospital

Membership Sponsor of the Year (sponsors the most members during the year): Sasha Love Higgins

Non-Profit Organization of the Year: A Hero for Kids

Rookie of the Year (distinguished in first full year as a member): Wey Wey Wong – Huntington Learning Center

Volunteer of the Year (gives time above and beyond the call of duty): Jaime Sousse — Osceola News-Gazette

Green Award (business making energy conservation contributions): School District of Osceola County

Living Legend Award (legend who inspires all to be legendary): Betty Damke

Business of the Year: St. Cloud Levee Liquor and Gas

Business Person of the Year: Dave Askew – Askew Jewelers
