Old Town celebrates 30 years of Classic Car Show and Cruise
The newly renovated and expanded Old Town will be celebrating 30 years of the Saturday Nite Classic Car Show and Cruise on March 21.
The Saturday Nite Classic Car Show and Cruise has been a weekend tradition for the past 30 years without ever missing a Saturday, and will have cruised the brick streets 1,560 consecutive Saturdays.
Dedicated car owners have been loyally showing off their cars through all types of Florida weather, including hurricanes, to be recognized as America’s Longest Running Weekly Car Show and Cruise. Guests are invited to drive down memory lane as Old Town welcomes showquality 1983 and older hot rods, street rods, and antiques. Cars will line-up beginning at 10 a.m. with a car parade, known as the “cruise,” down Old Town’s brick main street at 8:30 p.m.
The day-long celebration on Saturday, March 21, begins at 10 a.m. and includes live entertainment, giveaways, and more. Live music on Old Town’s Main Stage begins at 1 p.m. with “The Greg Warren Band” and then the evening headliner, “Classic Airwaves” at 7 p.m.
“We are excited to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Saturday Classic Car Show & Cruise. This weekly event is what Old Town is known for and we want to celebrate the dedicated car owners who show up week after week,” said Thearon Scurlock, Old Town’s vice president and general manager. “Old Town continues to embrace its heritage with events like the Anniversary Car Show & Cruise while providing free, family friendly events and entertainment six nights a week, 52 weeks a year.”
Old Town hosts the Classic Car Show and Cruise every Saturday rain or shine. It’s a free event for car owners to participate and spectators to enjoy. For more information, visit Old Town’s website www.myoldtownusa.com or Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
