Academic honors for local scholars

Here’s a list of honors earned by Osceola County scholars at out-of-the-area universities or institutions, as reported by Merit Pages News:

Florida Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public-school program, celebrated 531 graduates from across the state during its commencement ceremony on May 29 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Of those, 22 students from Osceola County were honored as part of the Class of 2026. Among those were: Geretzael Aldea Perez, Jadica Boker, Carlos Escobar, Cristiana Hoffman, Yuseili Mendez, Raychone Meyer, Hailey Parry, Isabella Serrano, Jeremiah Springfield, Justin Tirado, Kristiana Tyagi and Brooke Wilkins.

Amelia Moore of St. Cloud earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Music Business at Belmont University (Nashville, Tenn.)

Emmanuel College awarded a Bachelor of Arts Psychology - Developmental Psychology Cum Laude to Autumn Remy of Kissimmee.

Henry Barnett of Kissimmee (Master of Business Administration) and Evalina Capece of St. Cloud (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) were part of the University of Alabama’s spring 2026 commencement.

Jeffrey Carey of Kindred and Michelle Ponce of Kissimmee were among the Spring 2026 graduates at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta.

Naylee Cortes Espitia of Kissimmee (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and an Undergraduate Certificate in Project Management) and Grace Ann Lannie of Davenport (Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management) were part of the Spring 2026 commencement at The College of Charleston (S.C.). Espitia, along with Camila de Pool Maisonet of Kissimmee, were named to the school’s Dean’s List.

Robert Robinson and Eva Young of St. Cloud were members of the Spring 2026 graduation list at Graceland University (Lamoni, Iowa).

Angie Rosso from Kissimmee graduated with a Certified Logistics Technician certificate from Washburn University (Topeka, Kan.)

Renzo Cruzado (Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Philosophy Magna Cum Laude) and Christian Teruel (Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology Magna Cum Laude) graduated in the Class of 2026 from Colgate University (Hamilton, N.Y.)

Sandy Couret of Kissimmee was named to the Dean’s List and has earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Fort Hays State (Hays, Kan.) University.

Norhan Zaky of Kissimmee and Tiffany Crossan of St. Cloud were also Dean’s List honorees at the school.

Katherine Schutz, a State University of New York (SUNY) Canton Legal Studies major from Kissimmee, earned President’s List honors during the spring 2026 semester.
