POINCIANA NEWS — Easter celebrations and events begin in earnest this weekend

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) will hold the 2026 Spring Fest & Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, Mar. 28 at 12 p.m. at the Poinciana Activity Campus, 445 Marigold Ave.  This free family event features an Easter Egg Hunt, inflatables, a DJ, food trucks and a variety of local vendors and crafters.

Here is an activity for the adults.  Easter Bonnet Bingo takes place on Friday, Mar. 27 at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave.  Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first ball dropped at 7 p.m.  Adults can wear their favorite Easter Bonnet for this fun Bingo event.  This event is for adults 18+. 10 games for $5 with cash prizes.  Concession stands will be open for food and beverages and basic Bingo supplies.  No outside food or beverages allowed.

Poinciana Christian Preparatory School North, 2525 Trafalgar Blvd., will hold it’s 4th Annual Spring Festival on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This free community event features an Egg Hunt, prizes, food trucks, vendors and a live DJ.

The First Annual Hoppin’ With Ridge Heroes, an Easter celebration at the new Polk County Sheriff’s Office Substation in Poinciana takes place on Saturday, Apr. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9530 Marigold Ave.  There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, face painting, cookie decorating and food trucks.  Polk County Animal Control will also be there with cats and dogs ready for adoption.

 

Sensory Play Date at the Poinciana Library takes place on Thursday, Mar. 26 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Explore the five senses with sensory activities that benefit all children but are of particular help to those on the autism spectrum or with sensory integration challenges.

Trivia!  Women’s History Edition happens on Friday, Mar. 27 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.  Awaken your inner Rosie the Riveter as you are quizzed on a past prominent woman.  Winners will receive a book prize of their choice.

Is browsing through cookbooks trying new recipes or techniques and sampling new dishes your thing?  Kitchen Reader is the class for you.  Kitchen Reader takes place on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  This month’s theme is Southern Delicious.  Registration is required.

Makers Café: Springtime Wreaths happens on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. Transform everyday paper scraps into mini-wreath ornaments.  Supplies are provided.

R.I.S.E. Up Osceola: READ Bus will be at the Poinciana Library on Monday, Mar. 30.  This Osceola School District’s Special Programs Department is bringing their READ Bus, a renovated yellow school bus with an interior that resembles a mini pre-K classroom will be onsite.  The age group is children ages 3 to 4.  There will be 2 times for this event – 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Rhythm, Rhyme & Storytime takes place on Tuesday, Mar. 31 from 10:30 to 11 a.m.  This program is for children ages 2 to 5.  Parents can sing, sway and swing through this program dedicated to music and movement.  This story-time is in celebration of Women’s History Month.

Baby and Me takes place on Tuesday, Mar. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  Hug your little ones while sharing this special first-time experience.  This is for children from birth to 18 months. This program introduces books with playtime and repetitive music.

E.S.O.L. for Beginners happens on Tuesday, Mar. 31 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  This class allows non-English speakers to become more familiar with the English language.

Flex Your Fingers: Fine Motor Skills Workshop is for ages 0 to 5 and takes place on Wednesday, Apr. 1 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Participate in pre-planned activities that encourage the development of fine motor skills, listening skills, early reading skills, socialization and creativity through stories, games and activities.

Happy Birthday, OLS!  It’s the library’s birthday – celebrate with games, activities and challenges on Wednesday, Apr. 1 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Discover new books, enjoy cupcakes and see why the Library is fun.  This program is for school-age children.

There will be a Health & Wellness Giveaway on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 395 Marigold Ave. (the Anthony DePalma Center) presented by Love Makes Me Grow, Wedding Wish, Potter’s Touch, Marland Realty Group and Team Kareem.  This fun family-friendly day is focused on health, wellness and community.  All ages are welcome.

 

Osceola Arts Summer Camp 2026 registration is officially open.  The camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 7-14.  One of the sites is at the Valencia College Poinciana campus.  Each session of camp is $225 and concludes with a showcase on Friday at 3 p.m. where families can celebrate what campers have created.  Every session is a different theme.

Dreamworks Art Studio brings your favorite animated worlds to life through art. Campers will experiment with drawing, painting and mixed media projects inspired by the magic of story-telling and character designs runs from Monday, June 8 to Friday, June 12.

Camp Half Blood (Percy Jackson-inspired) campers will act, sing and move through epic quests and mythical challenges and runs from Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 26.

Roald Dahi Musical celebrates the imaginative world of Roald Dahl.  Campers will bring these timeless stories to life through acting, movement and song and runs from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 24.
